Northern Athletics Club Fireman's Runs

For 2011/12, sponsored by Ramsey Bakery.

Mooragh Park The Fireman's runs are a series of handicapped races held over the autumn and winter months around the streets of Ramsey. There are two races to choose from, a 1 lap race (approximately 1.7 miles and a 3 lap race (5 miles).

The first run of the series is a straight race with finishing times determining the handicap of runners for the next race. As the series continues start times are based on the runner's fastest time. This gives raw beginners as much chance to win as the more seasoned athletes.

There are 6 races, all held on a Thursday night with registration at 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start at Ramsey Fire Station. Since all the races take place in the dark, runners are required to wear hi-viz clothing.

The fee for each race will be £4 for affiliated athletes and £6 for unattached.

Dates:

The races start and finish at the Fire Station taking in Parliament Street, Waterloo Road, Queens Promenade and West Quay.
