These races are open to all standards of runner from fun runners, joggers to club runners. You must be 16 years or over to enter.
There are two types of run on the night. There is a 1 lap run that comes in at 1.5 miles approximately or a 3 lap run that measures 5 miles approximately, the choice is yours. The first race of the series is a scratch race then all races after that are handicapped according to your performance during the series of races. Due to the handicapping system the runs are open to be won by any standard of runner so all stand a chance to win. You can use the runs as a form of training, as a means to keep fit or as a social event. You don't even have to complete all the races in the series, just come along and enjoy the event. If you wish to qualify for the Firemans handicap trophy you need to complete a minimum of 4 out of the 6 races.
The runs start at 7:00pm so register prior to the race with plenty of time to spare. The race starts and finishes at the Ramsey Fire Station. After the race there are biscuits and tea available in the fire station.
The course is around the streets of Ramsey and is pretty flat with the exception of one slight hill.
Marshalls will be placed around the course for the safety of the runners. All runners must wear high visibility clothing (fluorescent bibs, white T-shirts, etc) as the winter evenings will be dark. Any runners turning up without any high visibility clothing will not be allowed to run for safety reasons.
The entry costs are:-
club runners £3 a race or £15 for the full series if paid in advance.
Unattached runners £5 a race or £27 for the full series.
